Around 9:45 PM this evening, Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist Westminster on a brush fire in the 700 block of Hess Court (3-10 box). Chief 9-2 and Engine Tanker 9-4 responded to the scene and found a brush fire in the wooded area behind the homes with scattered flames and smoke. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and then surveyed the area for additional hot spots amongst the smoldering leaves and debris in the area. Thankfully, only the fence sustained damage from the flames. Reese VFC cleared the scene after approximately twenty minutes to respond to another call. As a reminder, Maryland is currently operating under a mandatory burn ban. Please visit the Maryland Department of Natural Resources website for more information regarding the ban. |
